The finalists for The School Leaver Awards 2019 have been announced.
The School Leaver Awards celebrate the top employers and training providers for school leavers on apprenticeship programmes. It is the largest ranking of employers that offer the best apprenticeship and school leaver opportunities in the UK, and, crucially, helps young people and their influencers make key decisions about their career.
The majority of the shortlists are generated by the feedback gathered from apprentices currently working at an organisation. A number of shortlists, which includes the highly coveted School Leaver of the Year, are decided by an independent expert judging panel. Two awards are decided by an independent student judging panel. Click here to see a full list of finalists.
The nominations include high profile names from the banking and finance world, real estate and property giants, trailblazers in IT & tech and leaders of the legal sector. All have been nominated due to their ground-breaking work in developing and running school leaver opportunities: Intermediate Apprenticeships, Advanced Apprenticeships, Higher Apprenticeships, Degree Apprenticeships and school leaver programmes.
For the first time in 2019, there are four awards dedicated solely to training providers, who have been surveyed on their teaching, assessment & feedback, learning experience and personal support.
Jack Denton, director and co-founder of AllAboutSchoolLeavers.co.uk, said: “We had unprecedented interest in The School Leaver Awards 2019, which marks the 7th year we have conducted the awards and rankings. By opening a separate rankings and awards for training providers, we allow young people to delve deeper than ever into what their life could be like as an apprentice. As our rankings are decided by the feedback we receive from apprentices, it really helps young people get a flavour of what it’s really like to work and learn as an apprentice, and who offers the best opportunities.”
All category winners will be announced at an awards ceremony at Grosvenor House, London on Thursday 23 May, with celebrity host Tess Daly.
