Parents are the key influencers for school and college leavers, despite the more informed professional advice and guidance they receive through school or college.

However, the people who influence parents the most are teachers and careers advisors. Over 47% cite them as a source of information, so it is possible for schools to have an impact, directly in careers advice sessions with young people, and indirectly by informing parents of the breadth of options available.
