Throughout our history, we have set out to achieve extraordinary goals, developing ground-breaking technologies and shaping the world we live in. Now we are focused on the future of our planet, pioneering increasingly cleaner and more sustainable power, from all-electric aircraft and propulsion systems to nuclear reactors that will help nations become carbon neutral. Our vision demands we change the way we work, explore next generation technologies and embrace digitisation. This is your chance to be at the heart of delivering our ambitions, in a dynamic and critical part of our business.

The programme

Are you a creative thinker ready to thrive in our state-of-the-art Innovation Lab? Or maybe you have a passion for big data analytics, and want to help our aerospace customers understand how to use our products more efficiently supporting our journey to net zero carbon? Perhaps it’s cyber security that interests you, and keeping our staff, customers and data safe. You might enjoy working closely with business stakeholders to identify issues and develop IT and digital solutions that make a difference to the way we operate. Or love analysing the performance of our IT and digital infrastructure. Or is it that you’re not technically minded but have an interest in business and would enjoy working with our IT suppliers, building strong relationships and ensuring delivery stays on track.

What you’ll do

When you start the programme, you’ll move around Group IT and Digital as much as possible to get a breadth of experiences and develop a broad range of useful skills. This will compliment a host of introductory modules at university where you’ll develop the theoretical foundations for a career in digital and technology solutions. Later in the programme you’ll start to specialise into a particular role within the business which will help inform your university specialist module choices. While the programme has a defined structure there’s lots of freedom to explore what you enjoy and develop new skills along the way.

What you’ll need:

Three A-levels (or equivalent) at grades BCC to include Maths and ideally a business/IT subject (obtained or predicted) plus five GCSEs (or equivalent) including English Language at grade 4/C and Maths at grade 5/B or above.

Beyond that you’ll have a natural curiosity and problem-solving skills, be able to work in a team and have the potential to thrive in fast-paced, innovative environment. You’ll be a hands-on person, keen to apply university theory in a real setting and make a real difference.

What you’ll get

A competitive salary starting from £13,830 a year and increasing as you complete your training

  • A competitive pension and 33 days’ holiday per year (including bank holidays)

  • Outstanding career support from day one

  • A BSc Honours degree in Digital & Technology Solutions
