You will quickly learn how to work on live legal matters and have contact with clients. You won’t be thrown in at the deep end; your training will be carefully planned and you will work in a supportive team environment but will be doing a real job and contributing to the DAC Beachcroft business.
As a paralegal apprentice you can expect to either be assisting lawyers with their caseload or managing your own caseload of less complex files, with close supervision.
The Clinical Risk team work on interesting cases of all values in pre-lit and litigated defendant clinical negligence claims on behalf of the NHS Resolution, NHS Trusts, the MDU and other med mal insurers.
The role will involve a wide range of task based work, including instructing experts and counsel, liaising with witnesses, arranging conferences, drafting documents, undertaking research and general administration duties such as maintaining an effective electronic master bundle and sorting and preparing chronologies of medical records.
