What you’ll do
You’ll work towards becoming an accountant during our four-year programme, developing the technical and business knowledge you need to build a solid foundation for an exciting career in finance. During your first two years, this will mean completing placements within the Finance Service Centre or Tax teams. With your placements matched to your level of experience, you’ll learn all about life in a wide range of finance environments at a pace that’s challenging, but not overwhelming. At the same time, you’ll be completing the Association of Accounting Technician (AAT) qualification. Your second two years will see you complete two 12-month Finance placements in different business sectors across Civil Aerospace, Defence and Power Systems, as you study for the prestigious Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) qualification. After four years, you’ll be ready to further your career, starting with a role as a Finance Analyst.

What you’ll need
Naturally, we look for highly numerate people to join our programme. So, you’ll need to have, or be on track to achieve, three A-levels (or equivalent) at grade B or above, one of which must be in Maths, Accounting, Finance or Economics, plus GCSEs (or equivalent) at a minimum grade C/4 in English Language and Maths.
We’re looking for motivated and driven individuals with good attention to detail and great communication skills; people who can learn quickly and work well with others. You’ll be able to prove all of this with your achievements outside of education.
