And it’s not just engine parts – anything we can’t make ourselves, from IT, to training services, to new buildings, to catering services, to consumables – our Procurement teams negotiate, buy and manage it all.
Procurement is an essential part of our business. Our procurement division includes hundreds of professionals and spends over £8 billion every single year. Join us on this unique apprenticeship, and you’ll learn on the job working alongside experts, studying for an industry-recognised procurement qualification at the same time.
Over what is typically two years, you’ll get the best of both worlds, combining classroom learning with real, on-the-job training. As well as learning from our experts and gaining the kind of valuable practical experience you simply can't get at college, you’ll also study for a recognised professional qualification with the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (CIPS).
You won’t just be earning while you learn. You’ll also be doing real work, helping us deliver amazing products and services you can be proud of.
What you’ll do
As part of the team, you’ll get involved in selecting suppliers, negotiating the best deals, agreeing contracts, and then making sure that the cost, quality and delivery time are all as agreed. Whether you’re helping purchase the parts for a highly efficient jet engine, a building, IT systems or training services, you’ll be learning every day. Once you’ve completed your apprenticeship, you could have the chance to move straight into a Buyer role, negotiating deals and managing our highly complex portfolio of suppliers. Later in your career, you might work on setting our future buying strategy and delivering important cost saving opportunities.

What you’ll need
You’ll need a minimum of 5 GCSEs (or equivalent) at grade 5 or B or above, including Maths and English Language (obtained or predicted). You’ll also need to be a great communicator, good with people and able to present information and data clearly. A talented problem solver, you’re always willing to share ideas (and you’ll have plenty of them).
