What you will do  

This apprenticeship is a highly skilled technical role that requires you to produce designs for a wide range of installations to customer specification both commercial/industrial and residential. HVAC (Heating, Ventilation & Air Conditioning) Design Engineers need to be very safety conscious and have good IT, mathematics and communication skills. During the apprenticeship you will learn to produce drawings and designs using Computer Aided Design (CAD), AutoCAD and additional design & prototyping software programmes. This is a very exciting, challenging and rewarding role that will provide a start point for a lifelong career within a highly innovative and technical business environment. 

How you will do it 

The successful apprentice will enrol on to the Advanced Engineering Design and Draughtsperson Level 3 Apprenticeship.  The apprenticeship is 3 years in duration during which you will be trained how to produce engineering designs and drawings for Heating, Ventilation & Air Conditioning systems used in industrial and commercial buildings.  You will attend college on a day release or block release basis depending on your location. If you are required to stay away from home the cost of travel, accommodation and meals will be covered by the company. 

The aim would be to progress the apprentice through both college for technical qualifications and provide practical exposure / experience where you will learn how to carry out HVAC Design and Cad (Computer Aided Design) 

What we look for 

Minimum of 5 GCSE’s including Maths, English, Science and a technical subject at grade 9-4 (A-C in old grading system) or level 2 equivalent
Enthusiasm to learn and an interest in problem solving 
Self-motivated 
Good IT skills 
Excellent communication skills 
Ability to work both independently and as a team player 
Although no engineering experience is required, candidates must show an interest in engineering and working in the HVAC industry
