How do you shape the future through engineering?
As a Higher Apprentice, you will experience work in a broad range of departments with a rotational placement programme enabling you to build up relevant knowledge and experience. The rotation will include Engineering (design and development), Field/Operational Services (customer solutions run and supported by Siemens) and our on-site award winning Factory (with a wide range of opportunities).
To ensure continuity throughout your apprenticeship and related departmental rotations our dedicated on-site Training School will act as a key point of contact and provide you with a dedicated mentor.
A Higher Apprenticeship at Siemens ITS takes four years to complete:
Year 1 will be partly college based to achieve an HNC and to undertake PEO units (Performing Engineering Operations).
Year 2 is work based at Siemens ITS with day release at college to undertake the 2nd year of HNC and to commence NVQ level 4.
Year 3 and 4 is full-time based at Siemens ITS, to complete NVQ level 4.
A levels (A* - C) including Maths and Physics. We also welcome equivalents such as BTEC Level 3 certificate in Electronic/Electrical Engineering with an overall merit or distinction.
An enthusiasm for a career in engineering.
An ability to work within different departments and team environments.
It would be beneficial, although not essential, for applicants to have some relevant industrial experience - e.g. summer placements.
You must be flexible and adaptable.
You must be a confident communicator and proactive problem solver.
You must be able to work in Poole, Dorset.
