Job Overview - Joining Our Logistics Team

BMW UK Manufacturing Ltd is a modern, high volume and complex manufacturing Plant and is the birthplace and heart of MINI production.

Our Logistic team includes a number of different departments – Production Control, Material Control, Logistics Planning and Physical Logistics. These areas are responsible for ensuring that all aspects of the Logistics Supply Chain are met to ensure we can produce vehicles on time and in line with customer requirements.

Apprenticeship Programme & Career Development

BMW offers an enhanced L6 apprenticeship in comparison to others in the industry. The three year apprenticeship is designed to allow you to experience all aspects of the Logistics organisation, in an exciting manufacturing environment that is constantly developing. You will have the opportunity to build networks across the business and put the skills you will learn to good use, by carrying out projects, working alongside and supporting other members of the business, and carrying out tasks for which you have personal responsibility. 

The apprenticeship will provide you with a number of different opportunities to support your career development, and you will be provided with the support and guidance you need to ensure your training is successful.

Whilst developing specialist, on-the-job knowledge, you will also undertake a Foundation Degree in Business Management, with the opportunity to complete a top-up year subject to performance.

Personal development within the BMW Group never stops! This begins with vocational courses and continues with selective training throughout your career.

In order to be successful in the Logistics apprenticeship, you will need to be enthusiastic and show initiative. Good time-management and communication skills are also essential, alongside the ability to think logically and work both independently and as part of a team. 

Qualifications 

A minimum of 5 GCSE’s (or equivalent) at a level 6/B (or above) including Maths and English. 

Ideally a minimum of 2 A Levels (or equivalent) at grade C (or above) or a BTEC level 3 (60 credits plus) or equivalent in a relevant Business discipline.

Rate of Pay: 

A competitive salary enhanced annually depending on individual progress and performance starting at circa £13,000 per annum rising to over £25,000 over the programme. 

Company car scheme eligibility to those 18 years and over, plus other benefits including an on-site gym, pension scheme, generous holiday allowance and a subsidised on-site restaurant.

Working Hours: 

37 hour working week, start and finish times will vary according to work based placements and college hours.
