Introducing the firm

Meet the firm changing the game. Right now, Hogan Lovells' 2,600 lawyers are working worldwide on cases that shape legal precedent; projects that enable innovation for prestigious clients. And across 48 global locations, we’re doing it all seamlessly, as one team.

Types of work

What does our global reach mean for you? Exposure to exciting, headline-grabbing legal projects which help our clients look to the future and become even more successful. Join us, and you’ll develop a deep understanding of our bold and distinctive approach to creating valuable global solutions, as you learn from wide-ranging specialists. Not only that, you’ll tap into a broad range of practice groups here, which include: Corporate and Finance, Global Regulatory and Intellectual Property Media and Technology (IPMT), and Litigation Arbitration and Employment (LAE).

With all kinds of opportunities at your fingertips – and plenty of dedicated support – you’ll grow your legal expertise, discover the interests that drive you, and develop the commercial edge that sets us apart.

Insight events and virtual internships

Part of what makes us game-changers is our ability to stay ahead of the curve in a changing world. That’s why this year, alongside our traditional opportunities, there are various virtual opportunities to get to know the firm, including internships and insight events.

For first-year students, our insight events (whether in-person or virtual) are packed with tailored workshops, presentations and interactive opportunities to help you find out more about life and work at Hogan Lovells. We’ll also give you top tips and advice on how to make your application for a vacation scheme or training contract stand out and how to navigate the world of virtual interviews and assessment days.

As for our virtual internship – run through the InsideSherpa platform – anyone and everyone can take part in our global programme. You’ll participate in four to six hours worth of trainee-level tasks, gaining hands-on work experience that gives you a taste of what we do here. It’s quick, flexible, easy to access and open to all – no need to apply.

Who we look for

Our insight events are open to first-year students from all degree disciplines. We’re looking for smart, collaborative determined individuals who have an open mind and a genuine desire to learn more about our world.

When and how to apply

Applications for our insight events open on 1 January 2021 and close on 28 February 2021.

The events themselves take place on 16 April (virtual academy) and between 16-17 June 2021 and 18-19 August 2021.
