Achieve your career goals on our apprentice programme
You’ll receive tailored on-the-job training and training from our in-house experts, combined with early responsibility to help you develop and progress. You’ll be working towards nationally recognised qualifications – you’ll be working towards the CIMA (Chartered Institute of Management Accountants) level 4 Professional Accounting certification, the equivalent of the first year of university study.
Working with both your line and programme manager we want to identify the right opportunities to help you succeed in the short term and throughout your career with us. You will be assigned a buddy or a mentor who will be there to offer support and guidance throughout your apprenticeship
What will you do?
You will do two different 12-month rotations, working in one of our finance teams with a combination of on-the-job learning and a programme of training and development. Your duties might include:
- Assisting with financial processes and period end close duties.
- Dealing with internal or external customer queries.
- Identifying and resolving issues using agreed processes or escalating as appropriate.
- Reviewing accounting documents, producing routine reports and summaries for management as required

- on successful completion of the apprenticeship off boarding to a permanent role in finance and the opportunity to complete further fully sponsored study to qualify as a Chartered Management Accountant after your apprenticeship, the equivalent of a Masters degree.
What qualifications do I need? To be eligible for our Finance apprenticeship you will need:
- a minimum of five GCSEs at grade C (9-5) or above or equivalent, including Maths and English language both at grade B
- to have achieved or be predicted to achieve a minimum of 120 UCAS points from your top three A-levels (or equivalent) not including General Studies (300 UCAS points in the previous system)
N.B you cannot be a graduate or already hold a Level 4 qualification for the Finance Apprenticeship (i.e. AAT, CIMA, CIPFA, HNC, HND, Foundation Degree etc)
Where will I be based?
The programme runs for two years, with rotations in our West London offices: Stockley Park (Uxbridge, UK) and GSK House (Brentford, UK).

This will give us a better idea of your strengths and suitability for our apprentice programme. Please check your email daily to see if you’ve been chosen – and complete the World of GSK by the deadline given.
If you succeed in the World of GSK, you’ll progress to the GSK Life job simulation. Following this, we will be looking back over the whole of your application so far to decide whether you meet the specific requirements of the programme in the country you have applied to.
The final round is our Assessment Centre. We anticipate this will be in Feb-April
