We are seeking a highly motivated and conscientious Apprentice who is interested in working in the Multi Asset Portfolio Management team, in our Treasury & Investment Office business. The successful applicant will be involved with the daily management of investment portfolios, analytical and project work and producing management information and reports.  This Apprenticeship will give successful candidate a practical introduction to the management and operation of an investment firm, while providing early exposure to a range of business experiences.

Treasury & Investment Office

The Treasury & Investment Office is responsible for delivery of investment services including asset and liability strategy, optimisation of risk and return and capital deployed. We recommend and implement asset allocation of portfolios and oversee underlying investment managers.


Multi Asset Portfolio Management Team (MAPM)

The MAPM team are responsible for the day-to-day management of multi asset portfolios. This includes keeping portfolios in structure, implementing changes in investment strategy, recommending tactical positioning, undertaking compliance checks and reporting.

As a Portfolio Management Support Apprentice, you will support the Team using a variety of different applications, and you will become an integral part of our team. You will be fully trained and supported throughout your apprenticeship on how to use these applications whilst also developing your knowledge of the business.


Your daily duties will include:

Assisting the production of month end and quarter end reporting

Building and improving existing reporting

Managing cashflows on portfolios

Recommending trades on portfolios

Assisting the Team with ad hoc analysis requests

Providing ad hoc support to the Team where required


Training Provided

As a Business Administration Apprentice with BPP, you will undertake the Business Administrator Level 3 Advanced Apprenticeship. The apprenticeship will be delivered through a blend of live online learning, pre-recorded lectures, and face to face inductions and masterclasses


Skills Required

Good communication skills, both written and verbal

High level of accuracy and good attention to detail

Ability to prioritise and meet deadlines

Basic understanding of MS Office (Word, Outlook)

Strong Excel spreadsheet skills

A proactive team player who is confident about working independently

Logical and analytical approach coupled with intelligence, passion and a drive to learn


Successful candidate will possess the following qualities:

Personal Qualities:The role would ideally be suited to a confident individual with a positive outlook and good attention to detail. They should have a strong desire to learn and be keen to start their career in a financial services environment. The successful applicant should enjoy working as part of a team and be able to manage their time effectively. The applicant would ideally have an inquisitive, can-do attitude and have an efficient approach.
