Creative Industry Opportunities for Young Londoners

If you’re young and lacking in direct experience and contacts, a creative industry career can feel particularly out of reach. Opportunities feel few and far between, but there could be one answer: if you’re aged 18-24, based in London and have a flair for the creative with the gift of the gab, charitable organisation Commercial Break are running a summer project that could well be your golden ticket into a communications career. A Law Career without a Degree? Field Fisher Waterhouse Sets Up School Leaver Programme

Establishing a career in law has traditionally been via a degree and law school route. However, some law firms are offering school leavers the opportunity to work with them whilst studying to qualify as legal executives. European law firm Field Fisher Waterhouse is one of these firms giving those with A-levels the chance to follow aspirations to become lawyers without clocking up tuition fees costs.

‘TechBacc’ for Vocational Course Students Announced

The government has announced plans for an option for 16-19 year olds aimed at boosting the profiles of students who opt not to go to university: the ‘Technical Baccalaureate’.  The “TechBacc” will enable young people working towards vocational qualifications to showcase their strengths in their course, literacy and maths, and is expected to be “on a par” with A-levels.
