Establishing a career in law has traditionally been via a degree and law school route. However, some law firms are offering school leavers the opportunity to work with them whilst studying to qualify as legal executives. European law firm Field Fisher Waterhouse is one of these firms giving those with A-levels the chance to follow aspirations to become lawyers without clocking up tuition fees costs.
The government has announced plans for an option for 16-19 year olds aimed at boosting the profiles of students who opt not to go to university: the ‘Technical Baccalaureate’. The “TechBacc” will enable young people working towards vocational qualifications to showcase their strengths in their course, literacy and maths, and is expected to be “on a par” with A-levels.
