What you'll be doing
This fantastic apprenticeship will enable you to gain valuable work experience whilst benefitting from the expert guidance of experienced colleagues and mentors.
From day one you’ll find out what it's like to work in a fast-paced, exciting business environment. You’ll will work predominately as an assistant accountant within an HR function of BT providing support to internal and external customers.
Your role will involve assisting in day-to-day financial activities such as data entry and month-end management accounts and / or year-end financial statements. You may also be involved in internal financial audit requirements, such as reconciliations regarding the Apprenticeship Levy and management of the Apprentice Service Account.
Training & Support
Throughout the course of your apprenticeship, you’ll gain a wealth of invaluable experience. You’ll also be taught job-specific skills such as Business Awareness, IT Systems & Processes, Ethical Standards, Financial Accounting & Reporting, and Management Accounting. We’ll also train you in a variety of data analysis methods, communication skills, how to produce high-quality accurate information and problem-solving techniques.
To join our Apprentice Assistant Accountant Level 3 programme you’ll need to achieve a minimum of 5 GCSEs at grades 4 – 9 (GCSE C or above) including English Language and Maths. You’ll also need to achieve, or be predicted to achieve, a Maths GCSE at grade 6 (B or above). We value different perspectives, skills and experiences.
