Believe there’s more than one way to secure a successful future? So do we. We think our four-year Apprenticeship Programme is the best way to gain professional qualifications and the reputation that comes with working for a prestigious engineering brand like Siemens.
This is a rare opportunity to earn money while showing your potential to a global innovator. Here at Siemens we build a better world using greener energy, cutting-edge software and ingenious inventions –

The challenge
Siemens Industrial Turbomachinery Lincoln Advanced Apprenticeships are workshop based (Craft) and Office based (Technician) and last for approximately 3 ½ years. These are both Mechanical and Electrical.
During the first 10 months of training you will gain an understanding of basic engineering operations on a full time College Course.  This training leads to an NVQ level 2 and alongside this a technical qualification and functional skills are also undertaken.
In the second and further years of the programme you will attend 4 days per week on the Lincoln site undertaking training towards an NVQ Level 3 and attend College for 1 day per week to complete their technical certificate with the possibility of further or higher education.

 The candidate
We’re looking for bright, inquisitive candidates who want to make a difference -
•Workshop based (Craft) - A manual occupation which requires the ability to operate machinery and/or carry out the assembly of high technology products. Alongside these manual skills the apprentice will also require a good level of computer literacy.
Craft Level - 4 GCSE’s, or equivalent, at Level 4 or above which must include Maths, English Language and Science.
•Office based (Technician) - Working in a busy office environment but with a requirement to liaise with manufacturing personnel. You could be required to operate MS Office suite software and CAD 3D modelling software to a relatively high standard by the completion of training.
Technician Level - 5 GCSE's, or equivalent, at Level 4 or above which must include Maths, English Language and Science.
PREDICTED GRADES WILL BE ACCEPTED.

Personal qualities
You will need a disciplined approach to time keeping and attendance and good communication skills which will enable you to work with people at all levels.
To complete the Apprenticeship you are required to achieve multiple qualifications which demands a high level of motivation and the commitment to study and complete work in your own time.

Things to consider
During on-the-job training you may be expected to do shift work: 06:00 till 14:00 or 14:00 till 22:00. As part of the college technical course you will be expected to attend evening classes up to 21:00 one evening per week.
