Do you want to work on the front line of defence for the RAF? Helping to prepare and maintain weapons and explosives, making sure they’re ready at a moment’s notice.

As a Weapon Technician, you will have the unique opportunity to equip aircraft with guided weapons, missiles, bombs and aircraft guns. From working on weapons systems aboard aircrafts to repairing ejection seats, no two days will be the same. The RAF will provide you with specialist training allowing you to gain a Level 3 Diploma in Aeronautical Engineering. 

Once completing your Level 3 Diploma, you will be able to gain your NVQ Level 3 Advanced apprenticeship during your first tour. There is no apprenticeship as exciting as this, learning new skills, whilst playing a vital role in protection of the UK and our allies. With opportunities to travel the globe and make lifelong friends.

Requirements

Be aged 16 - 47 years of age
GCSE grade C or above in; English language, Maths and an approved Science-based subject or equivalent 
Be a citizen of the United Kingdom or the Republic of Ireland, holder of dual UK/other nationality or have been a Commonwealth citizen since birth.  UK residency restrictions apply.
Commit to minimum 3 years post phase two training 
Health requirements-BMI and Eye sight checks
Fitness requirements- 2.4km run, Multi-stage fitness test, Press-up & Sit-ups
