BRISTOL'S COOKERY SCHOOL & COMMUNITY KITCHEN

Square Food Foundation teaches people from all walks of life to cook good food from scratch. 

Founded by award-winning food educator, Barny Haughton, Square Food offers life-changing cookery courses and classes that promise to inform, encourage and inspire your approach to cooking. Square Food Foundation is a registered charity. Every penny of profit from masterclasses, corporate workshops and private parties supports our work with schools and community groups.

HOW TO BE A CHEF...

Square Food Foundation’s 12 week training programme in food & cooking

An accredited programme delivered by Square Food Foundation in partnership with Bristol 24/7. This 12 week course in food and cooking will improve job opportunities, provide the catering industry with a skilled, knowledgeable workforce and act as a foundation for further learning.

  • Starts 24th April 2019 
  • Taster sessions: 2nd& 3rdApril, 10am-11am
  • 3 days per week x 12 weeks
  • For young people aged 16+

HOW TO BE A CHEF

How To Be A Chef is Square Food's FREE vocational programme in food and cooking, created in partnership with Bristol 24/7. 

The programme provides young people (aged 16+) with skills for employability and opportunities for progression to further catering-related learning or employment. The next programme begins 24th April 2019.

How to Chop an Onion. Square Food Foundation training programme for young chefs

The Course: 

This FREE 12-week training programme includes hands-on cooking and work placements in a variety of food-related industries. 

Learners will leave with a Level 2 BTec qualification and Level 2 Food and Hygiene certificate - both valued by potential employers in the industry. 

The next How To Be A Chef course starts 24th April 2019 and is suitable for young people aged 16-25. 

Entry requirements focus on commitment, enthusiasm and motivation rather than previously-acquired qualification or academic success.
